Aton Connect for Windows Mobile Professional v8.1 Has More Features For Users
 The newest version of our mobile browser for enterprise
systems makes it easier for business line managers, sales managers and sales staff, field service workers, health care professionals and IT professionals to access important data and
streamline business.

has these new features:
New: Aton Connect now offers TN3270, TN5250, VT100, VT52, and VT220(Telnet) terminal emulation.
You don’t need to buy multiple applications to connect to your data.
New: Support for hardware “QWERTY” keyboards has been added, and Aton Connect
automatically adapts to all Windows Mobile screen formats including fullscreen, landscape, square screens, VGA resolution, and all newer
formats that have become available with Windows Mobile 6.
New: Native SSL for security. Aton Connect supports industry standard SSL / TLS high security connections to your host
. Microsoft Windows Mobile has a very high level of security built into each phone. This security framework has been
independently and rigorously tested. Aton Connect for Windows Mobile utilizes this Microsoft Security Framework to offer SSL / TLS security between your Windows
Mobile phone and your mainframe TN3270, midrange TN5250 or Unix/Linux server using Telnet VT220, VT100, or VT52. This is end to end encryption from the instant of
connection. All passwords and data transferred between your phone and your enterprise server are encrypted enroute. This encryption is independent of and in
addition to other encryption that may be provided by your wireless carrier.
New: Aton Connect also provides improved VPN support with compatibility for IPSec and SSL VPN clients
provided by Cisco, SonicWall, BlueFire Security, Juniper Systems and others. Works with the Windows Mobile Connection Manager to
select the best connection method available at a given time, including the ability to automatically dial the VPN connection you have configured on your Windows Mobile phone.
Version 8.1 has these new features:
New: Prompted by customer feedback, we have enhanced the online help system integrated into Pocket PC to clarify operating instructions, especially as they relate to establishing connections with enterprise servers using VPN (Virtual Private

New: Globalization - Aton Connect supports Pocket PC Regional Settings that

Aton Connect for Windows Mobile Pocket PC 8.1 still has all the same great features that we introduced earlier. Here is a quick summary:
 Full Screen Mode - Uses the full screen
on your Pocket PC to make much more of your mainframe application visible without scrolling. The full screen orientation is completely controlled by the Aton Connect program.
New Soft Keyboard
- The on-screen keyboard has been expanded to the full complement of 3270/5250/VT220 keys including all function, PA and most special command keys
that are normally available. The keyboard is available in both landscape and portrait modes.
Status Line - The bottom status line
emulates the status line of terminals, including "Do-not-enter" conditions, communication connection status, mainframe application sessions status, etc.
Session Switching - It includes a menu to allow you to easily
switch to a web browser, your inbox or a different Host session. Aton Connect supports a live mainframe connection in the background while the user is using the Pocket PC for
other purposes. The mainframe session can be brought back into view any time.
Fonts - You can now select the font face and font size
that displays on the screen. Mainframe applications are best viewed with fixed spacing (fixed pitch) fonts.
All Pocket PC PDAs and Phones come standard with the fixed pitch "Courier New" font face that is legible down to about 7 point size. We include a free font with your purchase
.
Many enterprises choose to license additional fonts for company use. Aton Connect for Windows Mobile will automatically detect all fixed pitch font faces installed on
your Pocket PC to allow you to select the one you want to display. Fonts are selected from a drop down box on the Display Options screen. A sample display
window allows you to see your selection before proceeding.
Communications Connection Manager - works with the Windows Mobile Connection Manager to select the best connection method available at a given time,
including the ability to automatically dial the VPN connection you have configured on the Windows Mobile Professional Pocket PC Phone Edition.
Adjusts on the Fly
- Fonts and colors can be adjusted "on the fly" even while a live terminal session is in progress. We have added keys to the soft keyboard to
make switching modes very easy. Aton Connect works seamlessly with the Pocket PC system to allow messages and voice phone calls to pop up in front of the host
session screen. Once you have finished the call or task, you can go back to the session still running in the background.
Backward Compatibility - No need to buy the newest devices.
Aton Connect is supported on Windows Mobile 2003 (Pocket PC only), Mobile 5.0, and Mobile 6 for Pocket PC, Pocket PC Phone Editions and Smartphone. The Microsoft
Compact Framework 2.0 (free download from Microsoft available) may need to be installed if it is not already present on the Pocket PC.
