HTC has created the ultimate data phone with the HD2. It has a capacitive touch screen just like the iPhone and Android Droid, Eris and Nexus phones.

A capacitive touch screen is different from the usual resistive touch screen found on many Windows Phones. The HD2 type of touch screen works very well with fingers but doesn’t work with a regular stylus.

If you like to write notes, draw or use a soft keyboard with small keys, your fingers on a capacitive touch screen may not give the desired result. HTC has developed a special stylus for the HD2 that works with small on-screen keyboards, such as used with Aton Connect for 3270 and 5250 or Aton Connect for SSH, VT220, Telnet.

Aton Connect Soft Keyboard

The Aton Connect custom soft keyboards include Ctrl, Alt and all of the special PF keys you need to access IBM System z, IBM System i, Linux and UNIX enterprise servers. Right now, these keyboards are optimized to work with a stylus rather than your finger.

If you choose to buy the HTC-HD2 phone, we would recommend you also buy the special stylus, HTC ST C400, that is available for this phone. You may be able to get the HTC HD2 Capacitive Stylus ST C400 from the same source where you buy the HTC-HD2 Smartphone.

If not, the web page below identifies several Internet stores where you can purchase the stylus.
